Girlfriend is Breech

We went to our 36 week OB appointment today. Our Nurse Practitioner came in, said how fabulous I was doing, then felt for the Hailey's position. She poked around and thought she felt the head by my right hip. But upon further inspection she said "uh oh, that's not her head, this is". She pulled out the ultrasound machine and sure enough, there was her little head wedged firmly in my right ribcage, sunny side up.

Since she is a Nurse Practitioner/Midwife she had us schedule an appointment with an actual OBGYN doctor for Wednesday. At this appointment the doctor will attempt to flip Hailey by doing something called External Cephalic Version (she kept referring to it as "a version"). They hook me up to a bunch of machines, give me some medicine to make my uterus not contract, then the doctor jams his hands into my belly, grabs her head and literally tries to flip her. I am scared to death of trying this! Side effects/complications include.. putting me into labor and needing a c-section right then and there, placental abruption-causing emergency c-section, getting the cord wrapped around Hailey's neck, and extreme maternal discomfort. There's also a chance that even if the version is successful she could flip back breech on her own. And let's keep it real, she's mine and J's daughter so what do you think our chances are that she decides she's going to do what she wants and stay breech? Our other option is to not try to flip her and just schedule a c-section for around 39 weeks.

Baby girl's head may not be spinning anytime soon but mine and J's sure are!
