Weigh in

Today was the big weigh in! I was so nervous. We put in a lot of work feeding, pumping and eating solids, and our hard work paid off! Hailey weighed 12 pounds exactly! And her head grew 2 cms! Lucky for us she loves going to the doctor, she was such a good girl, and came home to take an almost 3 hour nap! Now if only we could get you to sleep through the night we'd be in business, girlfriend!

Weight: 12 lbs.

Head circumference: 41.5 cm.

Solids

Today we tried solid food for the first time! I am trying my hardest to get my supply up, we're feeding extra, but the doctor said we could introduce some rice cereal or baby oatmeal if Hailey was interested for added calories. We chose oatmeal because its supposed to be less constipating, and with her current poop situation we didn't want to chance it. She did so well! She was very interested in why we were putting something in her mouth, and she was smiling and giggling. I'm not sure how much oatmeal actually went down her throat but it was a good experience!

4 Month Shots

Hailey had her 4 month shots today. She did sooo well! She screamed and cried and bit her daddy's finger when they happened but she fell asleep on the way home and was giggling after she ate. We did get some bad news, her weight and head circumference are lower than the graph would like. So we are going to try and up Mama's milk supply, feed Hailey a little extra, maybe start some solid foods, and pray for a big weight gain in two weeks at her weight check!

Baby Got Bling

Hailey got her ears pierced today!! We agonized and agonized over whether or not to do it. I spoke with our pediatrician who said medical guidelines say to just wait until after the first set of shots.  I asked what he would do and he said that he has three girls, one of which is 7 months old, and they all got theirs pierced at 3 months old. So since Hailey has a Dr. appointment on Tuesday, we figure today was a great day to get it done! She was SUCH a good girl. She sat on her daddy's lap, screamed when it happened, but then fell asleep in the car and was cooing and giggling away once we got home.

Pumpkin Patch

Today Hailey went to the pumpkin patch for the first time! She wasn't totally impressed but she loves being in the carrier and seeing new things! 

4 Months

Hailey is 4 months old today!!

Favorite things: Her lady bug and butterfly friends and eating her hands.
Least favorite things: Riding in the car.

Even Miracles Take a Little Time

One year ago today our lives changed forever. October 3, 2014 we got our first EVER positive pregnancy test. I can remember it like it was yesterday. That ache of hope I felt sitting on the tub wishing to see a second line, and the absolutely knee weakening feeling when I actually saw it. This day will always hold such a special place in my heart. Taking time today to remember all we have been through in these past few years makes us appreciate our little miracle that much more. She was definitely worth all of the time and heartache and we know we were just meant to have HER.
