Houston, we have a smiler!

For a few weeks now Hailey has been handing out smiles on occasion, you have to really work for them, and as soon as you pull your phone out to take a picture she stops. Well this morning as I was getting her up for the day she gave me the biggest, most beautiful smile and I was quick enough to click a picture! Oh sweet girl we love you so much and can't wait for all the smiles and giggles to come!

6 Weeks

I was planning on stopping the weekly pictures once Hailey hit 1 month, but 6 weeks felt like a big deal so here's one more!

Girlfriend is 6 weeks old! She is so alert and has been talking up a storm.
Favorite things: toys that make music, eating and going for walks in her fancy stroller.
Least favorite things: her car seat, changing clothes, and everyone and everything when she's in a bad mood.
Weight: 10 lbs!

Happy Anniversary!

Four years ago today I married the love of my life. Its crazy how fast time flies. It seems like yesterday, but it was almost 13 years ago, on my first day of high school, that a boy sat next to me in PE. He said hi, but that was it. He sat there for the entire class period not saying a word while I chatted with our mutual friend. When I got home from school my mom asked me, how was your day? Did you make any friends? Meet any cute boys? I was not boy crazy, I was very shy and never really talked about them. When I responded with my day was fine. A really cute boy sat next to me in PE. I think we all knew we were all in for a ride.

Who would have thought that boy would turn out to not only stay in my life for 13 years, but become my husband and the father of my child. There's a Taylor Swift song called Fifteen and in it she says that when you're fifteen you don't realize you'll do greater things in life than dating the boy on the football team. Taylor got that one wrong for me. The greatest thing I have ever done in my life was date the boy on the football team. He is my best friend, an amazing husband and father and has given me a beautiful life that I could only dream of having.

Happy anniversary, Husband. I love you more than words can describe. Hailey and I are so incredibly lucky to have you as our person.

Back to Reality

Today was a sad day in the Santopadre house. Daddy had to go back to work. :( It was so hard to pack up daddy's lunch and get him ready for work last night. And even harder saying goodbye and watching him walk out the door this morning. We had been having so much fun in our easy little baby bubble. But it's back to reality today.

Hailey and I went for a good long walk, Gramma came over and helped us go grocery shopping. Then we ate some lunch, and after some fighting, went down for a nap. We woke up and ate again, then made dinner and daddy came home! We missed him like crazy and don't want him to go back tomorrow! We've become accustomed to food and shelter though, so we guess he better go.

Daddy with his girl, finally!

 We had some fun today.

4 Weeks

Hailey Madison is 4 weeks today!

She looked so peaceful in the top picture,
I had to add what she looked like before and after that picture was taken.

Favorite things: Eating and lying on mama.
Least favorite things: The sound paper and plastic bags make.
Weight: We think around 8lbs.
She is starting to fit into her 0-3 month clothes! And she can officially roll from her tummy to her back!

God Bless America...

... Land that I love! (We had to sing Gramma's jam a few times today!)

Happy Fourth of July! Today was this little sweet as pie's first holiday! She had a few outfit changes, watched Joey Chestnut lose the hot dog eating contest, had lunch with Gramma and Papa, and went to her first party at Uncle Chris and Aunt Heather's house! Aunt Heather always throws a mean bash and Hailey did great! She slept in her Ergo carrier while mama and daddy ate a yummy dinner, then she decided she was done and it was time to go. We definitely didn't make it to fireworks, but she lasted a solid hour so we are going to consider it a success!
