20 Weeks

Well it has been quite a week. Our water heater went out Sunday night, so we have been without hot water for FIVE days. Long story short, home warranties aren't all that they are cracked up to be. But in the end we got a new water heater for cheap, and are super grateful my parents live so close and let us use their shower every night. ALSO, my terrible cold is pretty much gone and I'm feeling a lot better!

Anatomy Scan.. Take 2!

The day after our anatomy scan my doctor emailed me to say everything looked normal but that they didn't get one picture that they needed. So we went back in last night for a redo. They got the picture they needed right away then rechecked her heart rate and gender and snapped a few pictures for us just for fun. Baby girl is still confirmed a girl and her heart rate was 139 bpm. Judging by her somersaults last night we may have a little gymnast on our hands.

I know ultrasounds always look a little blurry but look closely and you can see her profile and her little legs and booty coming up over her head.

Anatomy Scan

We made it through our anatomy scan today! Full disclosure, I had a stage five freak out driving there. I was so afraid something was going to go wrong and I melted down. Poor Husband deserves a medal for dealing with me. I pulled it together quickly though, we checked in, we're waiting in the waiting room and effing Dateline is on with a very graphically sad story about a little girl. So ya... Not a great start.. But the scan went well!

Our ultrasound tech was great! We got confirmation again that baby girl is a GIRL! She was not in the mood to have her picture taken today and would not roll over or move her head up. But after a LOT of pressure and poking on my belly we got measurements of all her limbs, 10 fingers, 10 toes, perfectly shaped head and nose, the prettiest big lips, two kidneys and a full bladder, her heart and brain. She weighed in at 11oz and was measuring 1 day ahead of schedule. Feeling so relieved and thankful now!

Here are some pictures from today!

19 Weeks

Well we decided that instead of me putting on clothes and makeup and acting like that's how I looked all week, we would get real. I have been horribly sick for over a week now, I haven't gotten out of my jammies or put make up on. So here is my real 19 week picture. Not enough energy for a cute chalkboard, hopefully I'm feeling better and can make up for it next week!

How far along? 19 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: 1 lb. My dr assures me this is totally normal/fine.
Maternity clothes? I'm not gonna lie it's been jammies and sweats exclusively for a while now.

Best moment this week: Seeing our girl! She is a little ninja moving around in there.
Miss Anything? My energy, my voice, not coughing and throwing up.

2nd OB Appointment

We had another OB appt today! Everyone was more concerned with my cough than my pregnancy tho.  First of all I got to wear this super hot mask so I didn't spread my cooties to anyone else, which also made me breathe my own hot germy cough breath. Gag!

Then they did a Whooping Cough swab. Sounds like no big deal right? Well to obtain this swab sample they stick a plastic wire thing UP MY NOSE and down into my throat! You can imagine how fun that was. My doctor then used her Doppler to check for our girl's heartbeat and couldn't find it, again. Dr. swore that she heard her swimming around and for us  not freak out while she went to get the ultrasound machine. She started the ultrasound and sure enough our girl was flipping and flopping and her little heart was beating away. And Dr confirmed that our girl IS a girl! Maybe at our next OB appointment we can just go straight to the ultrasound and save me a heart attack!

Kind of a blurry picture but here she is!! Hopefully we'll get a better picture of her next week at our anatomy scan.

Gender reveal

Last night we had a fun and yummy dinner with some of our favorite people. We kept our secret from them for a whole day and I was dying for them to know. I searched Pinterest for a small gender reveal idea and came across a really cute popper idea. So I grabbed some push pops and pink tissue paper and made these!

The painted tops didn't want to come off but Heather wasn't afraid and popped hers open first to reveal IT'S A GIRL!!

Aunties Heather and Meredith also brought some adorable gifts for baby girl. She is so loved already!

16 weeks

We had our 3D/4D ultrasound today and found out.... Sweet Baby S is a SHE! We are beyond excited. It was AMAZING to see her in there, she looks like a real baby now! She definitely takes after her mama and does not like mornings or being told what to do as we tried to get her to face us and roll over but she just wanted to go back to sleep with her back to us. Words cannot describe how happy we are. Now we are on a mission to find the perfect name for our girl!

Gender Predictors

Just a few more hours until we know for sure, but here are a few of my very scientific old wives tale gender predictors. I did also, much to Husband's dismay, shell out $10 on Amazon for a gender predictor. The directions say to add three drops of urine to the little device and it will turn pink for a girl and blue for a boy. As you can see ours kind of turned purple, so I think it was probably $10 down the drain, but it was fun!
