Memorial Day

This weekend we celebrated our first Memorial Day as a family! It was also the first one in about 4 years that I've seen J longer than just throwing food in his room since CFA is finally over! We started our Saturday off right by taking an early morning visit to see Hailey's Great Pop at the National Veterans Cemetery. It is so humbling to drive in and see all of the people who have served, and those who lost their lives fighting for us. You can't help but feel so thankful and small as you drive around the big waterfall towards the black flag where Pop resides.

After nap we stopped by Auntie's house to watch the parade (and eat a whole plate of watermelon). We walked around the fair I've been asking J to go with me to for oh about 14 years, it was bad and I doubt I'll talk him into going again. We spent the rest of the weekend running a million errands, finally clearing out Jailynn's room, and spending a lot of time in our super fancy new pool!

My 1st Mother's Day

Today is my first Mother's Day with a baby in my arms. I don't think I could even put into words what this day means for me and J. It was a dark day in our house for several years. Today, instead of waking up, crying, putting on a happy face to celebrate all the wonderful mothers in our life and coming home to cry some more before falling asleep completely heartbroken, I woke up to my husband bringing our daughter into our room singing the Mother's Day song. My day consisted of grocery shopping, diapers, naps, birthday decoration crafts and cleaning chicken and sweet potato bits off of everything. And it was the best day I could imagine because I got to spend it with my girl (and my girl growing in my belly.) Being a mother is everything I dreamed it would be and more. I am beyond thankful today and everyday.

11 Months

Hailey is 11 months today! We love this girl more than we could even explain. She has been growing like crazy, and even has TWO teeth now! I can't believe she will be a whole year old next month.

Favorite things: Her Segway, standing, cheesy eggs, singing Itsy Bitsy Spider, her comb, Handsome and her most favorite thing of all.. One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
Least favorite things: Getting her diaper changed and being told she can't stand IN her Segway.
